My name is Patti Clickner, and I am fairly new to both blogging and having a parent in the beginning stages of vascular dementia. I decided to start this blog because the ‘texting’ conversations that I was having with my sister, Colleen, were getting much too long to type on my phone.

I will be honest that the conversations we were having allowed us to vent. However, they also helped to keep the whole family informed about mom’s health, safety, and overall well-being with the ease of creating a group on our smart phones. Lastly, these conversations helped us to laugh a little in the face of what we were going through as our mother’s care givers.

It is my hope that this blog will inspire people to tell their stories as we help each other maneuver this confusing and frustratingly unfair path to keep as much of this independent, kind woman’s life as normal as possible.
